How To Find Hidden Jobs on The Web

I had a blast speaking at RE:Focus on Careers tonight. My topic was “How to Find Hidden Jobs on The Web.” I started off describing a jobfair in Tokyo and made parallels to our jobmarket. I talked about the frustration that accompanied a traditional jobsearch (Jobfairs, Job Boards, et cetera) and stressed the need to pursue non-conventional methods.

I talked a lot about social media, Google and how to use some of the various free online apps and websites. (Can I get an Amen? <– Inside joke) In between my presentation slides people raised their hands for questions and although I planned to have a Q & A at the end, I just rolled with it in TRU Unconference fashion.

I spoke for about 45 minutes (give or take) but the time flew by and I was very appreciative of 1) the kind words given to me afterwards and 2) that everyone was still awake. (Smile)

Here are some of the pics from the event:

I look like I am saying something profound, but probably am not.
