Vegas for Beginners #SHRM2023

We’re super excited about the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo in the great Las Vegas this year! For many of you that are coming it might be your first time. I know that HR conferences tend to get crazy so I’m sure all the HR ladies out there will take this conference to the next level. If it’s your first time in Vegas here are some tips by someone who goes frequently that’ll make your experience a little more enjoyable:

We’re here for the parties! First off, the most important thing is to get registered for our VIP Party Guide to get the most out of your experience during SHRM2023. All of these parties will be thrown by anyone who is anyone in the industry.

Stay on the Strip: Some will tell you to go off the strip, but if you’re a beginner there is more than you could ever imagine on the strip and there is no way you’ll even get close to doing everything in the short time you’re there. So stay on the strip and get the most out of your experience.

Plan your trip: Don’t go to Vegas and think you can get the most out of your experience doing random activities. If you want to sightsee, gamble, go to sessions, and watch some amazing shows, plan your trip. Even if you don’t follow it to the T, make sure you have a general idea of what you want to do and when you want to do it.

Save on Las Vegas deals: There are several deal sites out there in Vegas and if you pay attention to them you’ll save money on the events and shows that you’ll want to attend. Never pay full price in Vegas.

Play video poker: This is my own little tip because I have found it to be the most effective. If you play video poker and put in enough money just to start off, you can play slow and talk to the bartender while drinking fast. This’ll get you pretty tipsy and will help you get drunker, faster, for free. (Let’s be serious, there will be some crazy shenanigans!)

Bring a battery pack: Especially if you’re not staying on the strip, bring a battery pack and make sure you charge your phone and electronics. No one wants to be stuck in Vegas without a phone, laptop, or anything that we need to survive!

What are you tips for first-timers in Vegas?
