The HR certification process as we know it changed forever on May 12, 2014 when the Society of Human Resources announced it’s new certification program which is set to begin January 1, 2015. Practitioners flocked to the Twitterverse and started bombarding industry leaders with questions on what this meant for their PHR, SPHR, GPHR, etc.
SHRM will announce the official name of their certification program at Annual Conference just a few weeks away. At Blogging4Jobs we’re in conversations with SHRM about offering a special webinar for those who can’t attend the special sessions at the SHRM Conference because you have other events planned or you are not attending the shindig in Orlando. If you are interested in attending, please subscribe to our email newsletter. We’ll be sending out details via email in just as soon as a date is selected and an event is finalized.
At Blogging4Jobs, our official position is to remain neutral and to give you access to the information and resources as updates become available. We’re in a unique position where we are an HRCI Approved Provider and work hard to provide great webinars and webcast content that’s available for credit while also being affiliated with SHRM. They are a current client of Blogging4Jobs.
The information, conversations and email communications regarding the new certificaiton have been downright confusing. It’s a HR certification battle royale. I’m sure there has been much discussion at your local SHRM chapters and board meetings about what this new certification all means. Instead of taking an official position in the HRCI vs. SHRM certification debate, I thought it best to provide a resource using our blog as a central place of information. Bookmark this page. We’ll continue to be updating this list to keep you up to date.
