US DOL App & Your Government Dollars at Work
Ever wanted to have an app from the U.S. Department Labor on your smartphone? You can finally make your dream come true.
There’s now an app that helps customers identify for that. The U. S. Department of Labor is getting into the mobile applications game with something called Eat, Shop, Sleep. This app and several others were the winners in a contest sponsored by DOL aimed at crowdsourcing creative ways to put technology and goverment information to work as part of their enforcement mission. The creator of this app received a $15,000 prize for her efforts. Similar to Yelp, users can leave reviews of hotels, restaurants, and stores including employees. Just how the DOL will use, manage, and control this app is left to be seen. In 2011, the U.S. DOL released their first app called DOL Timesheet. You can read a review here. Many of their apps are offered in Spanish options.
