The 2022 Annual SHRM Conference is just around the corner. If you are new to SHRM Annual Conference or it is your first time attending or you are a SHRM conference veteran, this round table discussion is for you. Hear from HR leaders and SHRM members on the best way to enjoy the SHRM Annual Conference in New Orleans. 

New Orleans is one of my favorite cities and this year I am attending my 12th (yes, 12th) SHRM Annual Conference. Our round table guests will discuss best sessions, tips on how to prepare for, pack and enjoy the conference. 

This session is pre-approved for 1.0 SHRM and HRCI recertification credit.

Steve Browne, Chief People Officer at LaRosa’s, Inc. Steve Browne has devoted 30+ years of his career to human resources.  Steve is an accomplished speaker who has been featured at local, regional and national Conferences, Chambers of Commerce, HR chapters and businesses.  He also has testified on behalf of SHRM before Congress and has lead advocacy efforts at the state and national levels. He is the author of HR onPurpose !! which has been a bestseller for SHRM and Amazon.

Outside of his professional HR environment, Steve has held leadership roles in a host of civic groups, including the Boy Scouts of America, the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board and the Great Oaks Business Partnership Council.

 

Paula Harvey, VP of HR at Schulte Building Systems, Inc. She has more than 30 years’ experience as a HR generalist in the retail, services, construction, and manufacturing industries. She also owned her HR and Safety consulting firm for several years.

In addition to teaching business and leadership topics for Rice University as an adjunct–including the SHRM Learning System–Paula is an internationally recognized speaker on global and strategic business issues. Her work has been published or appeared in articles on HR topics and she co-authored three books with other HR professionals: What’s Next In Human Resources, Evolution of Human Resources, and Compassion @ Work.

 

Gena Champagne, Franchise Owner at Spherion based in Greater New Orleans. Gena is a strong professional skilled in Operations Management, Coaching, Executive Search, Team Building, and Technical Recruiting. An active SHRM member and volunteer, Gena is a Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management Board Member. 

 

 

Jessica Miller-Merrell, SHRM-SCP is the Founder of Workology.com and the Chief Strategist at her company, Xceptional HR. She specializes in providing training and development for HR leaders in the areas of personal development, HR certification, and training for new managers.

She’s the author of Tweet This! Twitter for Business and The HR Technology Field Guide. Her most recent book, Digitizing Talent: Creative Strategies for the Digital Recruiting Age is being published by SHRM and available in the fall of 2022.
