To say that I’m excited for the upcoming SHRM Annual Conference this year in Las Vegas, NV, is an understatement. In my 10th year as an SHRM Official member of the blog, squad I’m really looking forward to attending the conference and connecting with old friends as well as new. I’m particularly excited about the keynotes this year which include Brene Brown, Martha Stewart, and Blake Mycoskie.

Inspirational Quotes From 2019 SHRM Annual Conference Keynotes

And my homework in preparing for the conference is to dive in a little deeper to the keynotes. As inspiring humans, I’m interested in learning more about what makes each of these leaders get up each morning. I want to know how they built their businesses, what moves them, and their success secrets. These three speakers I believe, in particular have a lot of wisdom they can share not only because for the first time in a while we have two women speakers, but also because they are self-made. With a lot of hard work, determination, focus, and grit, they’ve succeeded in changing the world each in their own unique way.

Inspiring Others Through Shared Experiences and Failure

Do you have a motivational quote or a moment where one of the keynotes impacted you personally? For myself, I have been following and inspired by Martha’s success and how she has scaled her business. In recent years, I’ve been following her watching how she has bounced back after failure and some of her very public mistakes. With Blake, I first heard him speak at SHRM Talent five years ago, and I’m excited to hear him again learn more about how Tom’s has evolved. In regards to Brene, I love her books and have heard her speak several times at various conferences. I love her approach to personal growth, learning, and finding grace. I’m re-reading her most recent book while I’m at the gym as part of my SHRM Annual Conference prep.
