The “Godfather of HR,” Gerry Crispin, shared some stats from BLS (Bureaus of Labor Statistics) and Engineers Joint Council:

For every 100,000 US students entering the 9th grade in September 2013
    – 68,000 will graduate from HS in June 2016
    – 40,000 will enter college in Sept 2016
    – 18,000 will graduate with a Bach. Degree by 2022 (4 to 5 Years)
    – 800 of those 18,000 graduates will have a degree in Engineering
    – 125 of those 800 engineering graduates will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering
    – 15 of those 125 graduate with Mechanical Engineering will be women.
    – By 2026 only 5 of the 15 will still be working in engineering

So, when do you want to learn their names?
