Ep 54 – The 7 Habits of Highly Successful Internet Sourcing

Episode 54: Successful Secrets and Habits of Internet Sourcing with Jim Stroud (@jimstroud)

One of the reasons I have admired Jim Stroud is because he plays both sides meaning he is also thinking about the recruiter just as much as he is about the job seeker experience. This is apparent in how he approaches sourcing as well as candidate engagement and in the resources and tutorials he provides recruiters and especially sourcers who are searching for candidates online more frequently. In this episode of the Workology Podcast we tackle the topic of sourcing especially the topic of effective sourcing where recruiters and sourcers are spending productive time engaging, building relationships and hunting online for the perfect candidate.

Jim’s new book, The Number One Job Hunting Book in the World provides job seekers insights into the world of recruiting and hiring. He’s one of the few published authors that comes from a recruitment background versus that of a career coach. This is a very important distinction and the reason why I believe Jim’s insights are invaluable to job seekers today.

What Exactly is Internet Sourcing?

Later in the podcast, Jim walks us through his 7 effective behaviors of sourcing. Some of them just might surprise you. I know they did me. Additionally, Jim shares some of the cool sourcing and internet recruiting tools he recommends sourcers use as part of their candidate search and engagement efforts including Hive.ly, Periscope, ScheduleOnce and BufferApp. Be sure to listen to the podcast and connect with Jim Stroud on LinkedIn.
