That person is former HR VP of Yahoo and Southwest Airlines, Libby Sartain.

She talks with us how HR can think like a CEO. During the podcast recording, Libby pointed out that Chief HR Officers (CHRO) like the rest of HR will always have a dotted line for reporting. Chief HR Officers, while they report directly to the CEO also have a responsibility to their board of directors. They brief the board on the performance of the organization, talent initiatives as well as the performance of the CEO.
HR, regardless of it’s role within the organization, is a tricky role to be in. Libby shares with us insights into what matters with for the CEO and how to anticipate the CEO’s questions, objections and concerns about your current and future HR and talent management strategies.
