Acquisition of an online job seeker talent community

In 2007, the popular human resources and workplace blog, Blogging4Jobs.com was created with one goal, to help job seekers learn the unwritten rules of the job hunt.  Nearly 5 years later, the blog’s focus has changed to incorporate job search, workplace, HR, and leadership topics boasting traffic of nearly 100,000 monthly visitors.    And today, I’m coming full circle of sorts with the acquisition of the online job seeker talent community, Secrets of the Job Hunt.

Blogging4Jobs Acquires Job Seeker Talent Community

Secrets of the Job Hunt is an online job seeker community founded in 2008 and currently boasts nearly 3,000 members with a goal that aligns with Miller-Merrell’s original mission of the blog which is to help job seekers learn the unwritten rules of the job search.  As of today, I take ownership of the community from the talented,  Chris Russell of All County Job Boards.

My feelings are that while the job search remains competitive even with the 8.3% high unemployment rate, many job seekers have simply given up actively looking for work after six months. The Department of Labor’s unemployment reports estimate that approxiamtely 5.5 million workers have been unemployed nearly 7 months.  I believe Secrets of the Job Hunt can help me and others continue to put America back to work.

Some history about me and the blog.  In addition to launching this blog as I mentioned in 2007, I hosted the first Job Seeker Internet television show, Job Search Secrets from 2009-2011 and currently serve as a co-moderator for the first Twitter chat specifically for job seekers, #JobHuntChat is held on Mondays at 10:00 PM EST.  Clearly, I’m passionate about the job search.

New job seeker resources and tools will slowly be made available to the community and at no charge.  I’m currently in talks with a number of well-respected career and job seeker experts to join the community.  If you are interested in being involved as a career expert or sponsor, connect with me.  Job seekers can join the site free of charge by visiting www.secretsofthejobhunt.com.
