I had the recent good fortune to interview a soon to be famous author – Dwane Lay. His book covers a fascinating topic for HR Managers looking to improve their HR processes. It is available on Amazon, but its a couple of bucks cheaper if you buy it from the SHRM bookstore.

Dwane Lay provides guidance to HR professionals on how to leverage Lean principles to bring process excellence to their HR departments in new book.

In it, he discusses how to use Lean principles, which have been used in the manufacturing world for years, to build a systematic approach to improving HR processes and lowering costs.


Dovetail hired Lay in May 2012 to work with Dovetail customers to analyze their current environments and improve them with technology and process implementation. Before joining Dovetail, Lay spent over a decade as an HR practitioner, following an early career in operations, IT and quality. He is recognized as a leading authority on the application of Lean tools and techniques in Human Resources, as well as having a wealth of experience in applying business technology to improve HR processes.
