Performance I create, this site is passing through a bifurcation point (big word DRINK if you are playing along at home). As the referenced definition says we may also be experiencing some chaos, and to steal further from the reference, qualitatively new types of behavior, along with a sudden change.
When I look at the people involved in this project, it seems like an eclectic mix of folks. This can’t help but give us a wide-ranging perspective on issues. Even geographically we are diverse. This new teams hails from seven different states including FL, IL, MN, NC, OH, TN, and TX. We run the spectrum of age, gender and race as well. Perhaps we could be known as the Rainbow Coalition blogger team.
Notwithstanding, it is an interesting study to me, to understand how social media and HR Conferences have brought this group of people together. I am sure going forward you will hear stories of how we have met and shall meet one and other again. We will be offering our opinions on this thing called Performance. We all need it and, need to know how to better manage it; at work, at home, at our schools, our churches our volunteer organizations.
Knowing some of the folks on this site as I do, we will probably step on a few toes along the way. Hopefully, this will only create positives outcomes, but making people mad is one way to create change, or act as a call to action for some folks. I would like to thank Chris Ponder and Chris Fields for including me on this journey. I am not sure where it is going to end up, but it should be an interesting, and informative look at performance and how to create it.
